Freelance fading?

As most of my followers and friends know I love freelance work, its my life, passion and has been my career direction for just over 8 years. Just as most things in life change I have found myself slowly gravitating to a partial office job. I am not talking 9-5 everyday, ideally my “dream employment” would be a creative studio that has flexible hours and is fun to work with.

Well as luck (even though I don’t believe in luck) has it I may have possibly found that company or at least a very ideal candidate. Now of course I have many freelance opportunities remaining and will never truly leave the profession. I am just thinking a slow fade to a onsite job could be in my near future.

I am not one to count my chickens or celebrate too soon, but my gut has me thinking this change is exactly how I can refresh my creative juices. Maybe it will last 6 months or maybe 6 years, I just don’t want to ever miss an opportunity for the fear of the unknown.

All this being said, what is your opinion on freelance vs. full-time? How do you define your “perfect job”?

Two of Hollywoods greats pass away

First Gary Coleman and now Dennis Hopper, yet long live the Hollywood of today. Its sad really, we have lost some great people to Cancer and other disease that have touched our lives through film and acting.

I still remember watching Gary Coleman portrayed on an episode of the Simpsons, which I do believe he did the voice of.

Then there is Dennis Hopper, a truly awesome actor and great man. I think a “Weekend of Hopper” is in order, someone should set that up, similar to how FearNet and others do for Halloween.

My thoughts on Steve Jobs response

Posting this is doing nothing more than amplifying the fact he has lost his freaking mind. He is speaking many false points (as mentioned many times) and just playing to the Apple community. Then again did we expect anything else from him? I have always liked Apples hardware and software but Mr. Jobs is basically turning all “fans” against his brand… great business idea guys.

My final thoughts on this… deal with the fact Flash is not going on the devices, but not because of Adobes position on the matter. Build your apps for Android and other mobile platforms or simply go play in the walled garden and shut up. Funny part is, i’m doing just that.
